Representive democracy is indirect democracy. It is a type of democracy founded on the principal of elected officials representing a group of people ,as opposed to direct democracy.

Direct democracy or pure democracy is a form of democracy in which people decide on policy initiatives directly.

Representative democracy is a better form of government than direct democracy. Many people feel that direct democracy could work to reduce voters and place national and local issues directly .

Representative democracy is far better suited to dealing with the large electorate.
