Resource planning is very important for a country like India because it has enormous diversity in the availability of resources. For example :
Jharkand, Chattishgarh & Madhya pradesh are rich in minerals & coal deposits.
Arunachal pradesh has an abundance of water resources but lacks in infrastructural development.
Rajasthan has lot of solar & wind energy but lacks in water resources.
Ladakh is rich in cultural heritage but is dificient in water infrastructure and some vital minerals.
