Heya here is your answer !!!
respiration is called exothermic reaction Because , in this process there is release of heat energy .
when the glucose is synthesized with oxygen and produce carbon dioxide water and heat energy this is known as or we called respiration is exothermic reaction.
following are the equation that show respiration is exothermic reaction;-
C6 H12 O6 + 02 ==== > CO2 + H20 + heat. / energy .
here
there is release of heat / energy with the formation of carbon dioxide and water.
hence respiration is known as exothermic reaction because there is a release of heat or energy
hope it helps you dear friend !!!!
thanks !!!!

because energy is released during the process of respiration
c6h12o6 + 6o2 = 6co2+ 6h2o+ energy (ATP)
in case of aerobic respiration
in case of anaerobic respiration the end product are ethonal and carbon dioxide and energy
in case of anaerobic respiration of muscle the end product are lactic acid and energy
