Respiration involves the oxidation of glucose, to produce energy(38 ATP) from cells. The energy produced is actually heat energy, so, as heat is released,Respiration is an exothermic process.C₆H₁₂O₆+6O₂→6CO₂+6H₂O+energy (38 atp)

Hi there!

Respiration is considered as Exothermic reaction because in Respiration oxidation of Glucose takes place which produces Heat Energy.

This is shown in the following chemical Eqn.

C_{6}H_{12}O_{6} + 6O_{2}6CO_{2} + 6H_{2}O + Energy
