why is respiration considered ss exothermic reaction​

Respiration is considered as an exothermic reaction because in respiration oxidation of glucose takes place which produces large amount of heat energy. This is shown in following chemical equation. Also heat energy is released. So respiration is also the burning of molecules of food, as we are oxidizing it.
