Respiration in plants differ from animals in three aspects.
All the parts of a plant like root, stem and leaves perform respiration individually whereas an animal performs it as a single unit.
During respiration in plants there is a little transport of respiratory gases from one part of the plant to the other whereas respiratory gases are usually transported over long distances inside an animal during respiration.
The respiration in plants occurs at a slow rate whereas in animals it occurs at a faster rate.
Respiration Is important in plants so as to maintain their own life processes.
