why is road transport favoured in the northern plains of india

because there is no water nd so no water transport could take place and secondly due to mountains the airplanes or helicopters could crash so no air transport takes place but only road transport is favoured because it is easy than other tooo....and also railway lines requires construction of railway tracks due to which there is risk of disaster.....ty
