Why is road transport more useful than rail transport in India ?

Advantages of road transportation over railway are:

1) the construction cost of roads is less.

2) it provides door to door service so charges of unloading and loading decreases.

3) roads can be built on hilly areas and other terrains easily.

4) it is economical in transportation of few persons and small amounts of goods over short distances.

5) it is used as a feeder to other modes of transportation. It connects the railway, ports and airports.

the present day they are necessary to have a heart is more than better road. today every country has pakka over metallic jobs connecting big cities industrial training centre and sea ports. the vehicles are run non stop at high speed on roads while at rail transport there were heavy and bulky good distance. lt slow and take more time so we need road transport. thanks
