why is rusting faster in coastal area​

Rusting of iron occurs only if iron comes in contact with moist air , and as u know in coastal areas, air contains high percentage of moisture. that's why it is fast in coastal areas

In coastal areas,air contains high percentage of moisture because of sea or ocean, while in desert air is dry and hot. as the percentage of moisture in air is most in coastal areas as compared to desert, rusting becomes faster
