Rusting of iron is considered a chemical change because of the following reasons---
1. When iron oxide comes in contact with moisture in the air a layer of rust develops on the surface of iron
2. Rust is thus a new substance formed and it is not possible to reverse back the change.
3. The chemical composition I.e, formula changes.
