Question.

Why is salt extraction restricted to the costal areas?

Answer.

We extract salt from sea water where some 3% of the sea water is salt. We don't make salt because taking it from sea water is way cheaper.

We also mine salt from underground salt mines. The salt came there when ancient seas evaporated leaving the salt behind.

To answer the question, no salt extraction is not restricted to costal areas. But most of it comes from the sea.

Hey mate !!

Here's your answer

There are two ways of obtaining salt:- mining salt from deposits on dry land that was once a seabed or salt lake, and concentrating salt by evaporating salt water, whether from a salt lake or from the ocean. The salt is obtain near the coast from the ocean in a very high amount that is why the salt making is restricted to coastal areas.

Hope it's help you
