Why is salt making restricted to coastal areas as sea water has right mineral contents for formation of salt.

Explanation:

  • Salt is found in seawater and it's more economical to obtain salt from the seawater along the coast. For this most salt manufacturing industries are located near the coastal areas.
  • In India salt is made along the coasts of Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh. The other reason s that salt is available in abundance near the coasts and hence easy to dry and extract.
