Therefore, making salt from sea water turns out to be cheaper for us. Therefore, the coastal areas are the main places where salt is extracted from.

But, since the big source of salt water is the sea, solar sea salt producers are near those coasts.

Mined salt can come from salt mines that are thousands of miles from coastal areas.
