The Sangam Age in India witnessed the rapid development of literary works in the southern regions. The literature that was created during this time came to be known as Sangam literature. The great poets, writers, etc. of this age have left behind invaluable accounts of brilliant literature that continue to enthrall historians and scholars. The earliest literary work dates back to 200 B.C.

Sangam age was a Literary evolved age of Tamilnadu.

There are Three sangams are helded. I mean Three Sangam Periods.

Mudharsangam (first Sangam)
Idaisangam (second Sangam)
Kadaisangam (Third Sangam)
First two Sangam Literatures aren't Survived. Third Sangam literatures only Survived. They are,

1. Padhinen melkanaku ( pathupattu, Ettuthogai)

2. Padhinen keezhkanakku (like Thirukural, etc…)

Padhinen melkanaku Literatures are Sangam literatures. Padhinen keezhkanakku Literatures are post Sangam Literatures.
