Why is secondary rainbow fainter than the primary rainbow

The secondary rainbow appears as a result of double internal refraction inside a raindrop which is very rare. Due to this double internal refraction, the intensity of light gets reduced after the first time, due to which the second rainbow appears fainter and shorter than the first one.
