Seconary succession means a place where settlement was present earlier but got detroyed due to some natural or manmade disaster...
Promary succession means a succession formed recentlythus secondary succesion would be more favourable for settlement and formed faster than that of primary succession.....

Secondary succession is much faster than primary succession for the following;
1.soil is already present so there is no need for pioneer species,
2.there is already an existing seed bank of suitable plants in the soil,
3.seed,roots and vegetative organs of plants also may still survive in the soil..........
