It is important because Waste Segregation is the first step in a compliant waste management plan that will help the environment and save the business money. This plan encourages employees to recycle on a regular basis and to reuse matter whenever possible. It really does matter which bin you put the garbage into and also helps keep the cost of green waste disposal down for all businesses.

Segregation of waste is important so that waste can properly be disposed according to their chemical composition.
We can recycle glass bottles and such things, reuse plastic bags.
We can also use some waste materials like dry leaves, cow dung, vegetable peels etc as natural fertilizer for plants.
Also we can reduce the use of harmful substance.
hope this helps : )
