A shadow is made when an objectblocks light. The object must beopaque or translucent to make ashadow. A transparent object will not make any shadow, as light will pass straight through it.

Answer:

  • Shadow has formed when the opaque object comes in the light path because the light travels in the path of straight line and then the “opaque object” obstructs it, shadow is formed.
  • Shadow is produced when light is blocked by an object.
  • If we want to create a shadow of anything, the object has to be opaque or translucent. No shadow will be made by a transparent object, as light passes directly through it.
  • For example: A shadow is created when light falls upon a tree. The light rays on the tree as well as shadow / image are created in the reflection phase.
