Why is shadow longest in the morning & evening ?

Shadow is longest in the morning & evening because of the angle of the sun.At afternoon shadows are very short because the sun is directly above our head which gives vertical sun rays thus the shadow formed is short.
But at morning & evening the sun rays fall at us at a a tilted or inclined position.This is why the shadow is longest in the morning & evening . And there are difference in the angle of sun because of the rotation of the sun.
