Why is share of net sown area decreasing in recent yr.in india?

Net sown area refers to the area sown more than once in an agricultural year. The states of plain regions like Punjab and Haryana have more percentage of net sown area . Total/Gross Irrigated Area: It is the total area under crops,irrigatedonce and/or more than once in a year.
