Sheep Shearing :-

The process of cutting off the woolen fleece of sheep with a thin layer of skin is called shearing. Once a sheep develops a thick coat of hair, it is shaved off to obtain wool. It is done by the machines similar to those used by barbers to remove our hair.

Why is shearing done in summer season ?

Sheep are found mostly in hilly and cold regions. Sheep shearing is done in summer season i.e. during hot weather because they can survive without their thick protective coat of protective hair in summer season. If shearing is done in winter season, the sheep would die due to the severe cold. The thick coat of hair keep them warm and trap the heat inside their body in the winters. During summer season sheep feel hot and uncomfortable due to the thick fur. So, shearing is done in summer season only.

cuz shearing means removal of the upper layer of skin or the fur coat so if it is done in winter or monsoon animals may feel cold and in summer it is hot so it is done in summer
