Answer: Shifting agriculture is the method of agriculture in which a land is cultivated till it is fertile, as the land loses fertility, it is abandoned and the cultivator shifts to the other land which is fertile.

Explanation: It is wasteful because the fertility of the soil if completely exhausted and it is not suitable for further cultivation. Such kind of land is also easily eroded as no vegetation is there which acts as a protection from erosion.
