Digestion of cellulose takes a longer time. Hence, herbivores eating grass need a longer small intestine to allow complete digestion of cellulose. Carnivorous animals cannot digest cellulose, hence they have a shorter intestine.

Answer:because cellulose is difficulty to digest. Take example herbivores animal such as cow which take grass (in grass cellulose is present) for food. the food is digested in the small intestine is very slow & take very time for digestion.carnivores animals such as tiger which take meat for own food.in meat cellulose is not present & they are easy to digest.therfore the size of small intestine in herbivores is larger than carnivores animals
