WHY IS SMALL QUALITY OF SODIUM HYDROXIDE IS ADDED TO WATER BEFORE ELECTROLYSIS ?????

. Addition of sodium hydroxide makes the water conductive to electricity( H2O breaks into ions. That can account for the passage of electricity)
