Sodium - Na - 11 - 2,8,1

Chlorine - Cl - 17 - 2,8,7

Across a period an electron is added to the same shell . These element just happen to have themselves placed there and they were not deliberately put there. This is also there that they have similar valency .

Wildcraft: Who me ?
rajuanushree: no the other guy
Wildcraft: was mine right ?
Wildcraft: if then can I have the brainliest answer pls
rajuanushree: I had thought that as both the elements have the same no. of shells they are placed in the same period
rajuanushree: yours is partly right....
rajuanushree: is my statement right??
Wildcraft: no the modern periodic table scientists arranged these elements such that all of them fell in the right place
rajuanushree: yeah .....you're right , but this could be the reason why they are placed in thevright places
