Sodium(Na) is very reactive metal. It is kept in kerosene to prevent it to come in contact with oxygen and moisture.

If sodium comes in contact with Oxygen and moisture than it forms sodium Hydroxide(NaOH) Which is highly exothermic Reaction.

Hence, Sodium is kept in Kerosene.
