because in dense forests lots of trees are there and the roots of the trees hold the soil tightly but in barren, open land no trees are there, hence soil erosion takes mostly in barren, open land

bcoz when the forest is there then the trees help the removing of upper layer
whereas in the open land is help helpful to stop of removing
