Sound is not Classified as an electromagnetic wave because:-
1. All electromagnetic waves travel at the speed of light, 3.00 x 10^8 m/s. The speed of sound is much slower, in air it typically has a speed of around 340 m/s.
2. Electromagnetic waves are transverse waves, sound waves are longitudinal waves.
3. Sound waves need a medium like air to travel through, electromagnetic waves do not. That's why we can see the light from the sun but cannot hear it
