why is Stainless Steel preferred over iron for making utensils
Answers
Answer:
Iron is mixed with carbon to produce steel. This is the main component of stainless steel. Chromium is added to make it resistant to rust. Stainless steel is preferred for making kitchen utensils because it does not influence the flavour of the food and is easy to clean.
Stainless steel preferred over iron for making utensils because if utensils would be made by iron they would get rusted after a moment , and as stainless steel is non corrosive and chromium is also added to it as it is also non corrosive and also scratch proof. So to prevent iron from rusting and spoiling the food stain less steel is preferred over iron utensils.
Hope it helps ..
(same with tin cans (Which are used for food packaging) instead of using stainless steel they use tin)
