Mainly we can say that elasticity depends on young's modulus, which means that higher the young's modulus more is the stress required to elongate the material. however diamond has the max young's modulus but we cannot elongate it to max as it will break coz of its hardness, whereas steel is a metal, it can be elongated maximum!
