Why is Steel not attracted to a magnet?

Steel is not attracted to a magnet as it is a partial metal.It has the partial qualities of a metal.Therefore,steel cannot be considered as a pure metal,thatswhy its not attracted to a magnet.

Austenitic steel is not attracted to the magnet due its structure.


The structure of steel does not allow favorable alignment of electrons so as to ensure magnetic attraction.


All the other types of steel are attracted to magnet due their suitable structure and thus the electrons in these structures align favorably.
