Why is stomata generally found on the lower side of the leaf?

Hi Friend,

Above surface also have stomata but small in number.Lower side have more in number.Because less evaporation will take place in the cooler, shady underside of the leaf.

All the sufaces of plants that are in the air have some stomata but leaf surfaces have the most because this is where photosynthesis is occuring . The lower side of leaf have more stomata because less evaporation will takes place in cooler and shady place
