"a mineral acid is an acid ,which are derived from one or more inorganic compounds.they all form hydrogen ions and the conjugate base ions.some rocks contain carbonate minerals, and the acid test can be used to help identify them.carbonate minerals are unstable in contact with hydrochloric acid".
