why is sulphuric acid not a drying agent for carbon monoxide

because co is not an alcohol as h2so4 acts ad drhydrating agent only in alcohold

hey mate!

Sulfuric acid is not used because the resulting salt, calcium sulfate, is not very soluble and forms a passive layer on the marble chips. This arrests the reaction after a couple of minutes.
