sulphuric acid ( H2SO4) is an oxidizing agent. it means it helps in the removal of hydrogen and the addition of oxygen. however hydrogen sulphide(H2S) is a reducing agent. it means that it helps in the removal of oxyhen and for the addition of hydrogen. we know that both oxidizing and reducing agents on reacting forms redox reactions. thus they cannot be used for drying.
