Almost all the energy that we use eventually comes from the Sun. The exception is the heat of radioactivity deep inside the Earth, which is ultimately responsible for processes taking place inside the Earth. As far as the crust itself is concerned, all the processes that we use eventually depend on energy from the Sun. Hence the statement.                                                                                                                                                   The world energy requirement is around 155504.09 MW per hour in 2012 but do you know this much amount of energy is generated by sun within one hours. The sun continuously pelts the earth with 35,000 times the amount of energy required by all of us who now use electricity on the planet!
