Sundarbans is the name given to the large Delta that are formed where the river basins of Ganges(Ganga) and Bramhaputra meet.
They are called so because there are many Sundari trees found in that region.

Although I don't belong to India but we are taught about its diversity
We have been taught that Sunderbans delta is the largest delta and even largest inhabited delta and it got its name due to sundari trees which are grown there
