Why is sundarban so called answer in 3 marks

The sundarbans is a mangrove area in the delta formed by the confluence of gangs,bramaputra and meghna river in the bay of bengal.and also it comprises closed and open mangrove forest,agriculturally used Land mudflats and barren land and is intersected by multiple tidal streams and channels
