For most Christians, Sunday is observed as a day of worship and rest, holding it as the Lord's Day, the day of Christ's resurrection. Sunday is a day of rest in most Western countries, part of 'the weekend'. In some Muslim countries, Sunday is a normal working day whereas Friday is the day of rest and prayer.

The president is called by the local bishop (or branch president) and, under the bishop's direction, he oversees the Sunday School. ... A stake (or district) Sunday School presidency provides support and training to the local Sunday School presidents.
