Explanation:

The inflorescence present in sunflower is capitulum or head. Sunflower is not a single flower but in turn it is an aggregate of many flowers. In it the main axis of the peduncle become flattened, termed as receptacle. It bears sessile bract, containing,centripetally arranged flowers or florets. A whorl of bracts called involucre also occured at the base of the receptacle. The bracts are known as ray florets and disc florets.
