Neurocysticercosis (Taenia solium) is the most common parasitic infection of the human CNS. It results from a combination of ingesting incompletely cooked pork and poor oral–fecal hygiene. Following ingestion the tapeworm lives in the host gut, then goes to the brain via the lung/blood stream.
