why is talcum powder sprinkled on carrom board

talcum powder has a tendency to make the surface mote so that is why it is even applied on face and body to make the face and body smooth so in the same way it is applied in the carrom board to make the surface of the carrom board smooth and so that the carroms can move easily all over
