Why is terrestrial radiation composed of long waves?

Terrestrial radiation is one of the long-wave electromagnetic radiation originating from the earth, usually the radioactive material such as thorium, radonand uranium. But majority occur due to solar radiation.Earth emits long-wave radiation since earth is cooler and has less amount of energy to give off.
Terrestrial radiation usually varies from space to space and is happening all the time.
