Why is that AIDS is called a syndrome and not a disease?

Acquired immunodeficiencysyndrome or Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) is asyndrome caused by a virus called HIV. Acquired means that people are not born with the disease. They get it after being infected with theHIV virus. Immune or Immuno- talks about the immune system.

1. AIDS effects our immune system.In HIV infection, the viruses goes to the immune system and damages it's function.

2.Thus, many of the effects of HIV and AIDS are becoz the body can no longer fight off the many minor infections that we face everyday

3.Instead, every small cold can become pneumonia. similarly , a minor gut infection can produced major diarrhoea with blood loss.

4.ultimately, it is these other infection that kill people suffering from HIV - AIDS
