Why is that once a person starts taking alcohol or drugs, it is difficult to get rid of this habit? Discuss it with your teacher.

When a person starts taking drugs in a particular quantity for a matter of time, the brain receptors form a resistance for that particular dose making the person to increase the dose. When a person tries to quit he /she suffers with withdrawal symptoms which may be life threatening.

When a person starts taking drugs or alcohol, it becomes difficult to quite them due to the addiction these things cause. The addiction to drugs and alcohol is so strong that it changes the chemical composition of the brain.

When a person is on drugs or alcohol, they get a feeling of rush or high but this feeling doesn't last for long. Thus making the person to increase the dose gradually over time. A drug or alcohol addict feels pleasure and a sort of happiness from their addiction and this addiction isn't easy to get rid of.
