Varanasi lies on the banks of river Ganga, which acts as a cooling effect on the city and the neighbouring areas. Whereas Lucknow is not situated near any water body as such, so it has an extreme temperature if compared to Varanasi.

Varanasi lies on the banks of the river Ganga and as a result it acts as a cooling effect on the city and around the adjacent areas.

But Lucknow is not situated near any water body as such so it has an extreme temperature when it is compared to Varanasi.
