Why is the 3rd ionization energy of Mn (Z = 25) is unexpectedly high ?

Magnesium belongs to the 2nd group of the periodic table and contains 2 electrons in valence shell. So when 2 electrons are removed then it gains stable configuration and it becomes very difficult to remove the 3rd electron from it. So the 3rd ionisation energy is very high
