hope it will help you

If the acceleration of a body moving uniformly in circle is not directed towards the center , it cannot move in a circle.

In a circle, the tangent at any point is perpendicular to the radius. If there is no acceleration, any object will move along a straight line, with uniform velocity.

If there is acceleration in the direction of motion of the object, then the velocity will no more uniform.

However the direction will not change.

If the acceleration is perpendicular to the velocity, ( radius is perpendicular to tangent) magnitude of velocity cannot change, but direction changes , tilts along the arc of a circle.

When we draw a circle with a compass, one leg is fixed at a point. The other leg is moved in a straight line, but there is a constraint, that is the distance between the legs is fixed (radius). Hence the leg moves along a circle.

When the acceleration is toward the center, it keeps the distance ( radius) constant. And the object moves along a circle.

Answer:

This is because of centripetal force

Explanation:

When acceleration of a body is moving in circle, it is always directed towards the center due to centripetal force, as velocity is tangent to the circle.
