Why is the actual mechanical advantage of a simple machine different from the ideal mechanical advantage?

Ideal mechanical advantage is when there is no loss of energy in other forms like heat, light, sound, but since practically this is impossible, actual mechanical advantage is always less than ideal mechanical advantage.
