Why is the amount of gas collected in one of the test tubes in electrolysis of water double of the amount collected in the other? Name this gas.

The two gases which are collected are oxygen and hydrogen. Hydrogen formed is double of that of oxygen because the formula of water is H2O Therefore there is two atoms of hydrogen for every 1 atom of oxygen.
